Hello all Diggy Dog fans!

This is Jagger, the lead programmer behind Diggy Dog. This is the first dev log for our game, so thank you for reading it!

I have one announcement I'd like to mention: updates for Diggy Dog are now in development! Our development team, Game Meat, is working on new content to be added to the game. Please expect there to be future logs describing these additions and changes.

Diggy Dog has reached version 1.0.1. This version contains several bug fixes, visual changes, and a technical change.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the game would be frozen upon exiting and re-entering the game from the title screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the player would get stuck on nearby ledges when falling.
  • Fixed a bug where the player could get themselves lodged in a hole when moving backwards into it while pulling a crate.

Visual Changes

  • Entities (player and enemies), items, and moveable crates are now visible behind objects. Entities and items have a black silhouette, and crates have a gray silhouette.
  • Added version info onto the title screen.
  • Added pebbles piles and vases.
  • Replaced the black backgrounds of each level with textures.
  • The default camera zoom value is now set to be between the minimum and maximum zoom levels.

Technical Changes

  • When grabbing a crate, the player’s position now becomes parallel to the crate. This is so the player’s collider does not interfere when pushing crates through narrow passages.
